Vernacare Acquires Bailey Instruments and ASep Healthcare
- Acquisitions strengthen Vernacare’s Specialist Clinical Portfolio and its presence across acute and community healthcare markets globally

05 November 2026 –Vernacare International, a leading UK-based manufacturer and global supplier of essential medical consumables, backed by H.I.G. Capital, today announces that it has acquired Bailey Instruments Ltd (“Bailey”) and ASep Healthcare Limited (“ASep”). These two new additions to Vernacare follow the recent acquisition of Eakin Surgical in 2026 and earlier investments in Frontier Medical’s Infection Prevention Business, Robinson Healthcare and Splice Cast Limited in 2020, 2021, and 2023 respectively.
The acquisitions bring two highly respected specialist medical device businesses into Vernacare, adding innovative products, established clinical expertise and recognised brands in podiatry, blood collection and infection prevention. Both businesses complement Vernacare’s existing portfolio and strengthen its presence across acute hospital, community and specialist healthcare settings.
Founded in 1989, Bailey is a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of specialist podiatry instruments and clinical products, with an established reputation among healthcare professionals and distribution in more than 30 countries. The acquisition significantly strengthens Vernacare’s existing podiatry offering, bringing together complementary product ranges, specialist clinical expertise and established customer relationships. Together, the businesses will offer a broader range of high-quality podiatry solutions to healthcare professionals, while introducing these products to new customers and international markets through Vernacare’s established commercial network.
ASep is a specialist UK medical device business focused on single-use and reusable tourniquet solutions for blood collection, phlebotomy and venous access, with an established international customer base and growing presence across global healthcare markets. Founded by clinicians to address everyday infection-control and workflow challenges, ASep’s portfolio is designed to reduce the risk of cross-contamination, support patient safety and improve efficiency in clinical practice. The acquisition complements Vernacare’s existing tourniquet portfolio and broader infection prevention offering, while strengthening its position in phlebotomy and related clinical procedures. ASep’s focus on practical, clinically driven innovation aligns closely with Vernacare’s commitment to developing and supplying products that support patient safety, reduce cross-contamination risks and improve clinical efficiency.
